Did you see the latest high resolution pictures released by NASA that show the foot prints of the Apollo Mission astronauts on the moon and (unsurprisingly) the debris they left behind?

Fascinating stuff. It reminds me of the nearly 60 years of climbing Mt. Everest and the accumulated debris fields of equipment, trash, and bodies. It is not unlike the many historic eras of exploration on this planet.

This is what we can expect in our exploration and colonization of Mars over the next two centuries. Personally, I do not believe we will have a successful landing of humans before the middle of this century. It's too difficult and too dangerous.
