Our friend Matt has had another children's rhyme published in comic form. This one is about knitted fish. Shannon Wheeler is the artist. See the comic and the poem at Too Much Coffee. If that is too much effort, click on the pictorial link here.

Any chances that Matt will publish a book of poems soon? I would gladly get one for my kids (and myself).
I wonder if he ever got around to inserting 'farcical marmalade' in a rhyme somewhere.

I will let Matt answer the question about any impending plans for his book. But if he and Wheeler keep working the rhymes into comics and Matt keeps sending me the links, he will have a book of sorts published at A.B. before long.

Hi Sujatha! The cartoonist and I are looking for a publisher. We hope something happens but it's been tough finding anyone who will take us. I've been told repeatedly that nonsense rhymes are generally not a "profitable" genre, so it's going to be a tough sell. Grr.

No, and I'm losing lots of sleep over it. Two three-syllable words have such a weird rythm, it's killing me. To compound the difficulty, I am also focusing on the phrase "gargling barges". Hoo. I need a hobby.
Anyway, hope you are well Sujatha.

For me, being linked here is as exciting as anything else. This is such a consistently intelligent blog. I deserve not your linkery.

'Gargling barges'- I like it even better than 'farcical marmalade'! Good luck with your attempts to meld it into a poem.
Have you checked out http://www.scbwi.org/ for resources on publishing? An ex-teacher from my kids' school district Andrea Perry, who had a book of poems published recently, is a member of that association.

I have not checked this out. I will definitely do that today. Thanks Sujatha! I've been sort of taking it one place and one group at a time, which has not been a good strategy, I'm overlooking far too much. Grr. Plus, I have the attention span of a flea, which doesn't help. Hope you are well...
