Andy Rooney was truly one of the great commentators on the human condition. I loved his humor which always contained a healthy dose of sarcasm. He wasn't afraid to make himself the butt of his humor. Little things that bother many of us were brought to the full light of day by Andy Rooney. I'll admit I quit watching 60 Minutes some years back, but will miss his wit and insights.

A lucky man. One could say that Andy Rooney died on the saddle having just retired a couple of weeks ago from a job he enjoyed. His sign-off segment had become as much the public face of 60 Minutes as the program's ticking clock logo. A full and successful life, by all accounts.
